Holidays are used to configure dates that are regional or national holidays in your country.
Configured Holiday dates can be used to pay staff holiday rates, or to manage promotion exclusion criteria.
Holiday details
Option | Allowed values | Description |
Holiday name | 1-150 characters |
The name of the holiday. For example: Christmas Day, Mother's Day. |
Alternate language | 1-150 characters | A description of the holiday in an alternate language, for example, Traditional Chinese. |
Regional holiday Appears only if you're using Head office |
Cleared Selected |
When the check box is selected, this holiday affects only the cinemas and cinema groups chosen on this screen. When cleared, this holiday applies to all sites. |
Add cinema group(s) Appears only if you're using Head office |
Click to select cinema groups that observe this regional holiday. |

Define Holiday

Date type |
Fixed Floating |
Whether the date on which the holiday occurs stays the same or changes each year. |
Date Appears only if you've selected Fixed as the Date type |
Any date, in your computer's local date format. |
The fixed date this holiday is observed each year. |
Week Appears only if you've selected Floating as the Date type |
First, second, third, fourth, fifth |
The week of the month this holiday is observed each year. For example: Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November. |
Day Appears only if you've selected Floating as the Date type |
Any day of the week |
The day of the week this holiday is observed. For example: Thanksgiving is on a Thursday each year. |
Month Appears only if you've selected Floating as the Date type |
Any month of the year |
The month this holiday is observed. |
Repeat until | Any year, future or current | The final year this holiday will be observed. |
Time and attendance
Option | Allowed values | Description |
Pay staff holiday rate |
Cleared Selected |
When the checkbox is selected, staff working on this holiday are paid the holiday rate. |
Start time | Any time of day |
The time of day to start paying staff the holiday rate. Note: This field is required if you have selected Pay staff holiday rate. |
End time | Any time of day |
The time at which you stop paying staff the holiday rate. Note: This field is required if you have selected Pay staff holiday rate. |
