You can now allow guests to begin their orders and send items directly to the kitchen for seat delivery. Start My Order (SMO) improves the in-seat delivery experience by giving guests control over when their order is sent to the kitchen. Available through Living Ticket, SMO supports both in-seat and mixed delivery orders.
Key features
- Guests can trigger kitchen preparation by tapping the Start button on their Living Ticket.
- SMO supports: In-seat delivery orders and Mixed delivery orders (in-seat + counter pickup)
- Prevents premature kitchen sends by respecting delivery schedules and pickup thresholds.
Configuration
To enable SMO:
- Go to CMS > Configuration > Global > Living Ticket > Features.
- Enable the Start My Order feature.
Behaviour by order type
In-seat delivery orders
- The Start tile appears once the showtime delivery schedule is reached.
- Before this, guests see a message showing when they can send their order to the kitchen.
Mixed delivery orders
- The Start tile appears when any item is ready to be sent.
- On start:
- All ready items are sent to the kitchen.
- A second tile informs guests that remaining items will be available to start later.
- Once those items are ready, they convert to the same Start tile.
