Task Scheduler maintains your Vista system by scheduling and running selected tasks.
- Tasks are Vista-supplied files that are provided with each Vista module.
- Task Scheduler runs these files on a regular schedule, or when triggered by an event (for example, closing the day).
- Tasks automatically perform duties such as purging obsolete data, processing data via SQL queries, transferring data between Cinema and Head Office, and generating reports.
Accessing Task Scheduler (or Task Manager)
In Vista Cloud, you can use Task Scheduler (under More capabilities) to manage and run tasks at the site level.
For Head Office, Loyalty, and Vouchers & Gift Cards, you need to use Task Manager (under Maintenance), which gives you access to the tasks for that particular module.
If you don't have access to Task Scheduler, ask your ICT department to give you access.
If you can't see a particular task in Task Manager, submit a support request, and our projects team will give you access.
